May 2009 Angels of the Month: Alexa Mach and Kloe Rosenbloom
Our Angels of the Month are Alexa Mach and Kloe Rosenbloom of Montville NJ.
Alexa and Kloe chose to take a booth at the Purimcarnival, set it up like a birthday party, and dedicate all the proceeds to Birthday Angels.
Here's what Alexa's mom, Jamie, wrote to us:
"We had cupcakes that we sold for $2.00 and made a sign explaining that donations would be accepted for $18.00(share a wish) or $36.00 for a full wish.
With $36.00 donations they filled out a personalized wish for the "Birthday Child" and got to enter a raffle for free babysitting from Alexa and Kloe.
It was a great success as you see.
Alexa's Bat Mitzvah is on June 6th and she is excited to tell everyone what a success this project was.
I am also putting left over brochures in Alexa's Bat Mitzvah favor bags! Just in case someone who wanted to send $ to birthday angels can.
It has been a pleasure!! Especially for the girls!"

Edith Sobel, upon receiving the magnificent donation $1,500 the girls had collected and the good news wrote to Jamie Mach the following note:
"Alexa and Kloe are truly young heroines and because of their generosity so many children in Israel - who have never had a birthday party - will send them their thank-yous.
It is also obvious that these young ladies have been superbly educated as to the true meaning of Tsedakah - "good deeds" - one of the finest principles of Judaism. Affectionately, Edie"
