Dear Birthday Angels,
We think ALL children deserve a birthday party!
For our Mitzvah project, we chose to raise money for Birthday Angels.
We held two fundraisers at Temple Emanuel in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
We got bagels, cupcakes and donuts donated, and sold them to the Hebrew School students, teachers and guest.
We made posters for the events, wore party hats, and told everyone about your organization.
We raised $250 which we are sending in a check today!

Make a Birthday Angels table at your event. We will supply you with our colorful flags, stickers, posters, place cards and donation cards.
Rabbi Boxman of Har Sinai Synagogue in Baltimore sends birthday cards out to each of his congregants every year and has included a recommendation to donate to Birthday Angels to make THEIR birthdays meaningful. He has also offered to match every donation of $18 made by the preschoolers!
School principle Kathy Friedman of Associated Hebrew Schools Kamin in Toronto reads the Thank You Cards out loud to the kids at the morning assemblies.
The amazing children of USDS Bayview Campus in Toronto came up with this creative fundraising idea and raised $450 for Birthday Angels in a cake sale!
Are you having a Mitzvah Fair in your area, school, federation, Synagogue, community center? Invite us to participate! This is perhaps the best platform to inform your communities about the different wonderful Mitzvah projects happening out there.
Here's another brilliant and creative fundraising idea: The Rashi School in Boston did a whole week about Mitzvah Giving and giving wisely throughout the week of Purim.
After learning about different charities they donated their Purim gelt to each cause as they found fit. Birthday Angels was given $1648!
Besides coming up with genuine and creative fundraising ideas like these, there are other ways you can help Birthday Angels.
Establish a Birthday Angels chapter in your area:
Sharon and Larry Enkin of Toronto have donated to Birthday Angels generously and spearhead a whole committee of Birthday Angels who spread the word, organize events and have collectively raised over $25,000 for the project already!
Michael Meyer Director of the Friends of Weizmann Science in Toronto has lent Birthday Angels his back office services making it easy for Canadians to donate… and they do…a lot! Joan, Sherri, Irene and Vlad always answer with a smile, happy to keep the "Circle of Giving" going round.
Anita Alter King is the Angel of Baltimore and has given her soul and spirit (as well as her time, gas, money, phone bills and postal costs) to Birthday Angels and has created a high spirited community of Birthday Angels in her area.
Cheryl Einhorn found out about Birthday Angels when she visited Israel and it really moved her. Involved in her community as a volunteer and community organizer she volunteered to be a liaison to the network of schools in the Greater Toronto Area!
Then, of course, there's Mom and Dad, Edith and Charles Sobel who have become the NY-NJ Birthday Angels hub-promoting, writing beautiful letters, banking, hosting and doing what great parents do: help make their nudnik children's dreams come true.
