We have been doing a lot of thinking lately about the best way to combine our concern for this planet and satisfactorily communicate with our Angels.
In preparing the Thank You packages we use a tremendous amount of paper, spend a fortune on mailings and suffer the unreliability and delays of the postal system.
This month a package containing 60 Thank You cards to different Angels got lost in the mail.
So we sent digital scans of the Thank You cards out to the donors by e-mail.
To our great surprise, no one minded. At least no one wrote to us to say that they did.
It made us realize that maybe it would be to everyone's benefit that our Angels receive their mail this way - making it the rule rather than the exception.
There are so many advantages to digital communication:
It alleviates the prohibitive postage costs which take over $6 from every donation.
It saves the paper, envelopes, ink and time that go into the Thank You package.
The cards arrive much faster and closer in time to when the donations are made.
It enables you to forward the cards to others to "show off".
We can always send the original cards to anyone who prefers or to people who don't have email.
However, for most, it will be a great improvement on the system, sparing unnecessary waste in paper, ink, time and postage.
