Birthday Angels is an affordable charity that goes a long way. Everyone understands and appreciates the importance of birthdays. And your network of friends and family will support you in a heartbeat.

Both what you choose to support and the way you champion your cause should be based on what's important to YOU, the things you love and love to do.
Because you will have to speak out, explain and work for it.
This is what makes your mitzvah project about more than just giving money.
It's about making what's important for you, important for your community.

Step 2: How to Define your Drive

TURN WHAT YOU LOVE INTO A MIZVAH

Convert your conviction into action.
Ask yourself what you love and what you love to do.
Then build your project around that.
For example:
Do you like Basketball or soccer? How about: making goals to reach your goals.
Invite your friends to come one day and take a shot at it. Every kick or throw can cost a dollar. You can match the number of goals made.

Step 3: Go tell it on the mountain

GET THE MOST MILEAGE FOR YOUR CAUSE

Hopefully lots of people will come to your event, buy your cookies and support you directly on your drive. But you can reign in support from all those who won't be able to attend your event in person.

You are invited to use Rootfunding online site to get the word out to your greater community, with pictures, videos and texts that explain about Birthday Angels so you can raise more money.

And remember, even if you don't make this your mitzvah project, you can make your friends Birthday Angels in honor of their Bar and Bar Mitzvahs. It's a beautiful gift that celebrates the importance of Birthdays.

IF you are championing this cause then it means something to you and you're asking your community to support you in this.

When you pick a project whose goals you identify with and make it your mitzvah you have to explain it, talk about it and work for it…. THIS IS HANDS ON SOCIAL ACTION!

Be inspired by those who made lots of children happy by doing the things they love the most:

Harrison Angus had a skating party all his friends who found sponsors for them to participate. He loves skating so he turned what he loves into a Mitzvah.

He even stood at the Metro West Mitzah Fair this year and last with Birthday Angels because he really enjoyed doing Birthday Angels as his Bar Mitzvah project and was proud to tell the upcoming mitzvah makers that it was fun , successful and great to do also!

Gary Fishkin stood outside of basketball games and sold drinks. 

If you like to do crafts, you can make something that you can sell.

Zoey Speigelman from Florida made these beautiful Swaravsky hearts and sold each one for $36 raising over $1,800 for Birthday Angels

Tal Saidon of Connecticut became a Red Cross registered baby sitter and made a card that says that all her babysitting money goes to Birthday Angels.

We have all witnessed the power of crowd sourcing. Lots and lots of small donations make revolutions!
