Birthday Angels team at Caje:

The Angel of the month goes to Anita Alter King, who represented Birthday Angels with me at the Caje convention, Last August, in Vermont.
Anita serves as the North American representative to Birthday Angels.
As a full time physical therapist and mother of three incredible children, wife of Elliot King and attentive daughter and daughter in law, Anita has spent the past four years as the liaison to Birthday Angels.
Anita and I met on the Young Judaea Year Course program in 1973 and we have been close friends ever since then.
We lived together in the "Bayit" in Boston the year following Year Course. In 1975 I came back to Israel to Tel Aviv University and Anita went to NYU for a degree in Social Work.
30 years later, still close friends, I told Anita of my dream to start Birthday Angels.
The moment she heard she came aboard. Anita felt that this is the Mitzvah Project she was always looking for and has been good for her word ever since.
Anita has brought Birthday Angels to every nook and cranny in her community- schools, congregations, youth groups, neighbors and educators from every walk of Jewish life in Owings Mills where she lives as well as the great Baltimore community.
She gets the packages of brochures out to whoever contacts us and takes off work to represent Birthday Angels at Mitzvah Fairs and conventions wherever and whenever she is called upon to do so. I could not have possibly directed this project without her input of ideas, time and work. She has dedicated so much of her talents to this project which is why in only four years Birthday Angels has reached 4,000 children and over 500 schools and communities across the US and Canada have joined the Circle of Giving.
